YouTuber Madeyewlook raises awareness for skin cancer after revealing melanoma diagnosis
YouTuber, Twitch star and ‘Madeyewlook’ body painter has revealed that she has been diagnosed with melanoma and is using her platform to educate and raise awareness about skin cancer after breaking the news to her fans.
Madeyewlook is a very talented artist who used her skills to become one of the most popular body painters on the internet. Boasting an audience of over 2.6 million YouTube subscribers, it’s safe to say that she dominates the space and even has her own line of body paintings to show off.
Throughout her career, Madeyewlook debuted with a plethora of breathtaking looks and renditions of various different characters – but her usual production of painting tutorials was cut short by a shocking upload on September 10.
In her video, the artist explained that she had been diagnosed with melanoma and claimed that she heard the news while filming her “dogfish” painting tutorial.
She went on to explain that she was in stage 1 of the cancer and said it was growing horizontally and not vertically. Doctors also told her that they would be able to remove the cancerous area from her skin with surgery, and they did so the next day.
Madeyewlook used her platform to raise awareness about melanoma and urged viewers to have their skin checked regularly, because if she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have known about her cancer at all.
She also advised viewers to pay close attention to any abnormal moles they might have, as her melanoma had grown into a mole that was getting darker and darker in a fairly short period of time.
“You think it’s going to sound crazier than it actually is,” she admitted. “Mine was small. I had watched it and never thought it would be something so drastic.
All of this took place while she was featured on a billboard in Times Square, courtesy of Twitch, creating an eerie cocktail of emotions for the streamer.
Thankfully, Madeyewlook is now officially ‘cancer free’ and her fans are sending her a wave of support in the wake of this shocking news.
