The Kimbell Art Museum named Best Yelp Art Museum in Texas

Texas is full of great places to unwind, from the Dallas Museum of Art to the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin.

But only one can be named the best in the state this year, and Yelpers have spoken.

Yelp recently released its list of the best art museums in every state – the best in Texas being none other than the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth’s nearly 50-year-old institution that is home to masterpieces from around the world, all free to view (with the exception of special exhibits which require a ticket).

Yelp determined the list by identifying the top museums in each state, then analyzing the total volume and reviewer ratings between Jan. 1 and Oct. 11, among other factors. All had to be marked open on Yelp and also have a satisfactory health score by October 21.

The Kimbell is in fairly good company. Other museums on the list include the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Getty Center in California, and the Art Institute of Chicago in Illinois.

No contempt for the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and all the other world-class galleries in the city – we get it, Yelp. You could only choose one.
