Suspects arrested after allegedly cutting 4 fingers off man’s right hand
PONTIAC, MI – A man has lost four fingers and three people are in jail after an apparent drug case goes wrong.
Two men and a woman are accused of cutting off the fingers of the victim’s right hand, WXYZ Detroit Reports. Partick Fredrick-Deon Leak, 40, Patricia Deneen Osborn, 56, and Henry Rahsaun Simms, 32, are all charged with armed robbery and assault with intent to cause less serious bodily harm than a murder.
Police were not called to the scene but were notified of the incident when the bloodied victim, a 38-year-old Pontiac man, attended a local fire station late on September 21, according to the report. He was rushed to hospital. Only one of his fingers could be reattached although the police recovered all four; one of them was in Osborn’s purse.
Osborn told police that she and one of the suspects planned to buy drugs from the victim. The victim was believed to have been inside his Pontiac apartment when the incident occurred, according to the report. The third suspect arrived and was left inside; he then allegedly started assaulting the victim and eventually cut off the man’s fingers with an adjustable wrench or knife. Osborn described the weapon as an adjustable wrench, but none were found at the scene as a bloodied knife was found.
The incident may have been in retaliation for a shooting the day before when the suspect who allegedly initiated the assault was shot dead, police said.
