Pablo Center invites you to Go Paint! Chippewa Valley
CHIPPEWA VALLEY, Wisconsin (WEAU) -Since September, local artists will have the chance to paint the Chippewa Valley on the other side the Chippewa Valley, with the Pablo Center’s annual Go Paint event! Event.
For five days, anyone can try their hand at painting a midwestern Wisconsin landscape as part of the Plein Air Art Festival.
But can you paint a landscape in just two hours? And in one?
As part of Saturday’s launch event, painters 18 and under can participate in the Youth Quick Paint challenge.
Starting at 11 a.m., artists will only have one hour to create their landscape masterpiece from here, at the confluence of the Eau Claire and Chippewa rivers.
Supplies will be provided and art instructors will be available to help.
“We will have painters spread throughout the confluence area who will paint beautiful works of art before your eyes,” says Rose Dolan-Neill, director of arts at the Pablo Center. “The public is definitely invited to come and see this happen, it can be truly magical to see a blank canvas transform before your eyes.”
Artists 18 and under are welcome to paint for free, adults participating in the 2-Hour Adult Quick Paint must register.
“It’s just the field of the imagination, we can’t help but be creative in this environment and we want to take pictures and try to paint everything and capture it because we are so surrounded by beauty, it it’s really overwhelming sometimes, ”says Dolan-Neill.
