Obituary of Diana L. Loeffler – The Providence Journal

Diana L. (Ajemian) Loeffler 99 of Warwick passed away peacefully on June 22 at St. Elizabeth Green House Homes, East Greenwich, RI.
She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Loeffler. They had resided together in Warwick, RI for 52 years.
Diana was born in New Rochelle, NY, daughter of the late Kersam and Lucy (Kheiser) Ajemian. She was an accomplished classical pianist, organist and teacher.
She was a 1944 graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading theater, music and dance schools. She began studying the piano at the age of nine and was teaching neighborhood children by the age of fifteen. After graduating from Juilliard, she taught piano at Dean College (formerly Dean Academy) in Franklin, MA. and also taught at Avery Piano in Providence, RI. where she met her husband, Bill. Teaching was her life’s work and she taught in her home studio until she was over ninety years old. Many students have become close friends. She was a member of the Schubert and Chopin clubs as well as a talented painter. She had a lot of fun with her precious cats, Herman and Charlie.
She is survived by a niece Beatrice Lemoncelli of New Jersey, and was predeceased by her older sister Beatrice Larrea and her brothers, Carl Ajemian and Richard Ajemian.
Diana was truly an example of a life well lived and will always be in the hearts of many friends and students she touched.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Carpenter Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave. West Warwick RI. The burial will be private.
