Local painter goes above and beyond fan expectations to show Phoenix Suns pride

Phoenix Suns fans wait at drive-thru to show off their team spirit
Phoenix Suns fans gather in the valley for local artists to decorate their cars. FOX 10’s Danielle Miller reports.
PHOENIX – The people of the valley are looking for ways to show their pride in their sunshine, as the team continues their race to their first NBA title.
With a few fans, they are ready to show their team spirit with stylish cars, thanks to a painter.
“I call it the Sunsmobile,” said Barb Kish.
Kish, like dozens of others, stood in line on the morning of July 8 to have their cars painted by Mick French with Signs of Life.
“I saw it on Facebook, and I went there of course I have to,” Kish said.
Joe Caples, a Suns fan and carpool driver, says he’s eager to show off his team spirit.
“I thought that would be a good way to show my support and get the fans downtown, and just have fun with the Suns where they are,” Caples said.
French typically paint storefronts, and as business is booming with people looking to get everything Suns related, he decided to hold the event behind the wheel.
“I stay busy all year round, but right now my clients are so patient and pushing everything and just trying to take care of the sun business,” French said.
French will continue to paint the city in purple and orange, with the aim of rallying the valley. Another drive-thru is scheduled for July 10 near Kyrene and Loop 202 Santan Freeway. To make an appointment, visit The signs of life.
