Inter can only sign Sassuolo’s Giacomo Raspadori if Lautaro Martinez leaves, Italian media say
Giacomo Raspadori will only become an Inter player if Lautaro Martinez leaves this summer, according to reports.
This from today’s print edition of the Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which claims that the signing of the 21-year-old striker Sassuolo will only be economically feasible for the Nerazzurri if Martinez is sold for a large sum.
Raspadori has been linked with the Nerazzurri in recent weeks as contacts said to be underway between the clubs and the club have clearly shown their interest.
Raspadori has been offered as a possible target to replace Martinez if the 23-year-old leaves, with ties lingering for the Argentine, especially with big Spanish clubs.
However, it is also believed that Inter’s interest in the player is strong enough that the club even want to bring him in as reinforcements and compete for the striker positions if Martinez stays.
However, the Nerazzurri are currently in a difficult economic situation, even with the imminent sale of Ashraf Hakimi, and additionally have transfer targets to other positions, and the takeover of Raspadori would therefore likely be extremely difficult to achieve economically.
If Martinez were to be sold it would be a much different story, with the Nerazzurri placing a very high valuation on the Argentine, but so far no offers have been made to approach the club’s € 90million price tag. for the player.
