Hyderabadi painter sets Guinness World Record

Hyderabad: Art depicts a person’s feelings and emotions, but places no limits on their creativity and imagination. Painting really isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But creatives always find a way to express themselves through art. Sangu Upasana is one of those young artists who attempted a Guinness World Record, in addition to winning a gold medal in “Online Fragrance of Art Buds International Youth and Child Art Exhibition 2018″.
“Even though it all started off casually, painting has always been my passion. Looking at the bed sheets in my house, I tried to capture the designs on paper. Seeing my art work, my mother started to encourage me. Slowly I learned different concepts and started drawing, then I started painting, ”says Upasana, who has created more than 800 paintings.

Upasana has been practicing for seven years and recently joined Simsum Arts Gallery and Studio – Painting Classes to master her skills. “I felt like drawing was the hardest part of painting compared to other things, but after being trained I think it’s the easiest part. In addition to sketching, I also paint in oils and acrylics, ”shares the 18-year-old.
During the pandemic-induced lockdown, Upasana also participated in an event hosted by Mayank Vyas and Dr Mahima Gupta on Facebook – “Most paintings uploaded to Facebook in an hour,” which helped her feature in the Guinness Book of Records. “The Guinness Record was unexpected for me. Since many public spaces and galleries were closed during the pandemic, we were asked to upload our painting to Facebook at once. Some 797 members attended the event.
Upasana not only learns but also teaches art through her YouTube channel called “Upasana Art Classes”. “I started uploading all of my paintings to YouTube and as the pandemic has become a challenge for many, I thought about sharing the tips with all art lovers who want to gain the skill online,” Upasana said. , who is continuing his studies at Aurora Degree College. .
Upasana also makes sure to spend at least two hours a day painting. “I have to thank my parents who have always supported me and give me all the material I needed to paint. I would love to open my own institute one day and start training people in the future.
