Couple Can Taste Zodiac Signs, See Taylor Swift’s Voice Color
Gemini will eat this.
Whenever taste maker TikTok Jackson has a fondness for chocolate donuts, all he has to do is say the word “Gemini.” If it’s orange soda he’s craving, pronouncing the zodiac sign “Cancer” does the trick.
“I have one of the rarer forms of synesthesia called lexical taste synesthesia,” Jackson, 34, told The Post.
It is a rare neurological disease that allows him to taste words.
“So when I say or hear certain words, I associate food very strongly with them,” the Minnesota anomaly added.
Trending clips of Jackson’s talented taste buds connecting distinct flavors to zodiac signs have racked up over 6.4 million views on TikTok.
“Gemini is the tastiest,” he said. “Aries tastes like a rubber tire.”
For him, proper names are also magically delicious.
“The name ‘Grace’ tastes like turkey smothered in gravy,” he said. “‘Bridgette’ tastes like tree bark.”
Bitterly, his own name arouses no enthusiasm. But his father’s name, “Sam,” reveals the spiciness of the salmon burger patties.
And while about 2-4% of people have some form of synesthesia – a perceptual phenomenon in which information intended to stimulate one sense activates multiple senses – research shows that only .02% of the population shares his special sensory superpower.
A study of the University of california found that synesthesia, “… occurs from increased communication between sensory regions and is involuntary, automatic,
and stable over time.
Analysts have also determined that synesthesia typically takes place in families and is highly transmissible from parent to parent – so Jackson’s future children may also possess sensory witchcraft.
“Having this unique gift is really cool,” Jackson exclaimed.
His wife Sarah, 29, has auditory-visual synesthesia, which means any sound – from a pin drop to a hard-rock concerto – stimulates a colorful viewing experience.
“When I listen to music, I see colors,” explained Sarah, an abstract artist. “Screamo music resembles the black and white dots of static television, and heavy metal brings out vivid colors, like deep red.”
Pop music, however, comes with its own pop of color.
“Billie Eilish’s songs are much brighter and more vibrant,” she said of the “Lost Cause” crooner, who also has synesthesia.
Sarah says Taylor Swift’s voice sounds like touches of peach and yellow and has a nylon texture.
She and Jackson have chosen not to share their last name for reasons of confidentiality.
But on their TikTok public profile, the superhuman lovers – who married in 2018 and only revealed their keen senses last year – keep their more than 470,000 fans frantic by revealing what foods their names, star signs or random words have the taste.
“Jack says ‘Aquarius’ tastes like cereal,” Sarah says in a voiceover video from their Zodiac Tasting Series. The clip has garnered over 1.4 million views.
“Specifically Quaker’s oatmeal squares with oat milk on top. Delicious, “she continued.” Congratulations Aquarians. “
Jackson also finds that “Sagittarius” tastes like egg noodles and meat sauce, “Leo” like Fritos corn ships, and “Taurus” like tortillas and lime salsa.
And to all the unpleasant commentators who doubt the validity of their neurological gifts, sensitive lovers say, “We cannot taste hate.”
