College basketball | Parker and Painter lead Mount Union past Baldwin Wallace
BEREA — No. 11 Mount Union defeated Baldwin Wallace 94-71 in Ohio Athletic Conference men’s basketball Wednesday night.
The Purple Raiders (17-2, 10-2 OAC) saw four players score in double figures, with Christian Parker leading with a game-high 27 points. Chris Painter Jr. added 18 points, while Braedon Poole and Ethan Stanislawski had 15 and 14 respectively.
The Yellow Jackets (11-7, 6-5 OAC) were led by Anthony Mazzeo who scored a team-high 16 points.
The Raiders led a 21-9 run late in the first half to take a 46-23 lead with 3:46 left in the first half.
Baldwin Wallace opened the second half on an 11-4 run to nearly 19 points (60-41) with 15:26 remaining, but it was as close as it gets.
Mount Union shot 60.6% (40 of 66) from the field, including 55.6% (10 of 18) from 3-pointers.
The Raiders then return home to face Wilmington on Saturday, February 5 at 4 p.m. at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.

No. 12 Baldwin Wallace got 28 points and eight rebounds from Lily Edwards to defeat host Mount Union.
The Purple Raiders (6-11, 3-8 OAC) trailed just 33-28 at halftime and trailed two (37-35) after a free throw from Maddy Miles with 6:12 left in the third quarter.
But the Yellow Jackets (14-3, 11-1) led an 8-0 run to take a 10-point (45-35) lead with 1:42 left in the quarter and Mount Union couldn’t. approach within eight points the rest of the way.
Emma Cannon scored 12 points for Mount Union, while Jenna Reppart added nine. Miles finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
Both Mount Union teams host Wilmington on Saturday, with the women’s game starting at 2 p.m. and the men following.
