Aubrey Boshoga, an SA artist, socialite and cabin crew member of South African Airways (SAA), was violently stabbed and thrown outside his home in Johannesburg over the weekend.

Friends, colleagues and worshipers have since paid homage to Boshoga, while others have called his death a “hate crime” in connection with LGBTQI identity.

AUBREY BOSHOGA KILLED IN JOHANNESBURG

African Aviators posted on Instagram about the loss of Aubrey Boshoga. Sunday, he said; “It is with great sadness that we have the unpleasant duty to inform you all of the sudden passing of South African Airways Cabin Crew Aubrey Boshoga.

“Our dearest friend, African Aviators page member Audrey Boshoga has been stabbed to death nine times, her body thrown outside her home in Johannesburg. We are so devastated and we will continue to pay tribute to this gentleman steller who did not deserve to die young. Justice be done, ”he added.

He went on to say that SAA has lost an outstanding cabin member due to their high level of energy, strict sense of fairness, team spirit and unmatched work ethic.

“Aubrey has behaved with kindness throughout his life, he has touched the hearts of so many people with the love he has shown,” he said.

When South African contacted the SAA to comment on Aubrey Boshogo’s death, they said they had been informed by a family member of Aubrey Bashoga’s untimely death.

“Aubrey was a passionate SAA employee who was a cabin crew member. On behalf of the management and employees of SAA, our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Aubrey Bashoga, ”he added.

Not only was he a dedicated employee, he also created paintings, photo prints and Wire Art.

The tweeps took to arms Monday after news of Aubrey Boshoga’s death. Suntosh Pillay, psychologist and writer, said LGBT + people continue to suffer from relentless hatred and violence in South Africa.

“Talented artist Aubrey Boshoga, 48, was murdered and his body dumped outside his house last night. For no other reason than to live his life, ”he said on Twitter.

Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Applied Legal Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand Tshepo Madlingozi said:

“Hate crime; lynching of a human being. The latest victim of the LGBTIAQ + lynching is Aubrey Boshoga. Boshoga was stabbed nine times. Her lifeless body [was] thrown outside his door. Your homophobic views [kill]. Knifed 9 times; thrown in front of his door.

According to EWN, the number of LGBTQI + people murdered this year has risen to 10.

Yet another hate crime on the basis of sexual orientation. SA will call your name, Aubrey Masenkind Boshogo because you were slaughtered to be different, to love differently and to embody who you are. My soul rest in peace 😔😢😭🏳️‍🌈🏴 #LGBTIQ #AllLivesMatter pic.twitter.com/BhFmAkfvcm

Singer and songwriter Simphiwe Dana said:

“Sad of [hear] the death of Aubrey Boshoga. Such a kind soul. I met him when we did this photoshoot for @Previdar. He loved and was a great collector of vintage suitcases. Let her murderer be brought to justice.

South African has also contacted police for comment on his death, but no response was given at the time of publication.
