Have you ever gone shopping for a specific product only to find that every option on the market is just plain ugly? In our series not hideous, we’re looking for the best high-performance buys that aren’t total eyesores. Function meets form.

There are myriad reasons why having a vinyl floor mat in your home is convenient. They’re great when you have young children who often tip over while eating at the table, they’re comfortable to stand on while doing the dishes or using a standing desk, they can work as easy-to-clean runners in high-pressure areas. high traffic from home and many more. However, finding non-hideous options can be a little tricky – and no one should have to sacrifice style for comfort.

If you’re picky about your home’s aesthetics but know you’d benefit from having a vinyl rug in your home, then you’ve come to the right place. There’s nothing I find more exciting than finding aesthetically pleasing options for otherwise boring, functional, or downright ugly homewares. I absolutely refuse to offend my sensibilities by watching a horror, even if it is a domestic necessity.

Below, I’ve rounded up a selection of vinyl floor mats that are comfortable and durable, but won’t spoil the stylish, grown-up vibe of your home. You won’t see any childish colors, patterns, or kitschy selections. In fact, the list below is made up mostly of black and white options, although I’ve added a few that might satisfy the more color-hungry among you. Keep reading to get yourself one of these cute (dare I say classy?) vinyl floor mats.
